Rules is a feature that allows users to automatically categorize similar transactions based on specific attributes of the transactions. This can be useful for organizing transactions in a way that is easy to understand and analyze, as it allows users to group transactions that have common characteristics into the same category.

By creating rules, users can save time and effort when categorizing their transactions, as the system will automatically apply the appropriate category based on the specified criteria.

Condition

A Rule can be applied for the following attributes of a transaction

  1. Sender
  2. Receiver
  3. Amount
  4. Cost-basis
  5. Fee
  6. Date
  7. Tx Hash
  8. Chain
  9. Token Symbol
  10. Posting Period
  11. Purpose

After selecting a transaction attribute in the "Conditions" section, the user must specify a value for that attribute and indicate whether it must be equal to or not equal to that value for the rule to be applied. This allows the user to specify the specific criteria that must be met for the rule to be applied.

Additionally, if the user only wants the rule to be applied to a specific wallet, they should uncheck the "Apply to all wallets" checkbox and select the desired wallet from the dropdown menu. This will ensure that the rule is only applied to transactions in the specified wallet, and not to transactions in other wallets. By applying the rule only to specific wallets, the user can customize the categorization process to meet their specific needs.

In the example provided, the rule will categorize transactions that have taken place on 31/12/2022 across all wallets under the account name Mining.
